NAPA Auto Parts, PleasureLand RV Center and the Gopher State Timing Association (GSTA) extended their major sponsorships with Brainerd International Raceway.
As the Official Auto Parts of BIR, NAPA Auto Parts will again have significant visibility at BIR for the 2020 and 2021 race seasons. In addition to signage in the high-traffic areas throughout the track, NAPA has naming rights for the BIR Performance Driving School Tech Building.
BIR’s Wednesday Night Street Drags is now called the NAPA Street Legals. NAPA has been a longtime supporter of the Wednesday night program, where BIR opens up the track to anyone with a street legal car or truck for an evening of drag racing as well as drifting or autocross. NAPA staff are on track each night to answer car-related questions and offer tips about car maintenance and performance.
With 6,000 stores, NAPA has more than 500,000 available parts, some of which will be available at BIR’s Shirt Shack, which is now selling a limited number of auto parts.
PleasureLand RV Center is still the Official RV Dealer of BIR after extending its sponsorship through the 2022 race season. PleasureLand will have significant visibility at the track again during the next three seasons, including naming rights for the PleasureLand RV VIP Campground, which features 164 full-service RV sites.
The agreement includes title sponsorship of the PleasureLand RV Show & Go, which is in its 34th year as BIR’s Fourth of July weekend race that features the second leg of the three-race Muscle Car Series on the drag strip, a classic car show, fireworks and live music.
And lastly, PleasureLand will move more than 200 campers and RVs onto BIR’s infield July 8-11, behind the main grandstand, for its annual Brainerd RV Show & Sale.
As the premier RV dealer in Minnesota, PleasureLand sells new and used RVs and campers from the top manufacturers in the country. PleasureLand has more than 500 units on display at its six locations, including Brainerd, St. Cloud, Ramsey and Long Prairie.
The Gopher State Timing Association (GSTA) is a long-time supporter of racing at BIR and extended its sponsorship for the 2020 season.
In addition to visibility in BIR’s marketing materials and signage, the GSTA is the title sponsor of the GSTA Muscle Car Shootout, which as been BIR’s signature event each Labor Day weekend for the last 32 years. This year’s race is Sept. 4-6 and will feature the grand finale of the Muscle Car Series on the drag strip. The Central Roadracing Association will be on the road course for Superbike racing. The event includes a classic car show and live music. Last year, BIR had to close racing registrations after 510 cars showed up to drag race.
Established in 1954, the GSTA was created to organize car clubs and run street drags in the Twin Cities. The group has since moved away from street drags to focus on hot rodding, which is on full display each year at the Minnesota State Fair Coliseum during the 64th Annual Rod & Custom Spectacular, which is scheduled for April 4-5 this year.
