The return of the BIR Snocross, scheduled for March 8-9, is good news for snomobile fans. A WPSA national snocross race, the BIR National is a chance for fans to see some of the top professional snocross racers in the country, like Longville’s Levi LaVallee, who finished fourth in the Pro Open class last year, and Lake Shore’s Dan Ebert, who won the Semi-Pro Stock class last year. They will be among more than 200 riders who will compete on BIR’s half-mile track, which will feature tight turns, banked corners and a variety of bumps that allow racers to catch big air for spectators.
Last year, BIR hosted its first-ever BIR National after the race had to be moved from Canterbury Park in Shakopee due to a lack of snow. BIR had snow-making equipment that provided plenty of snow for the event. This year, the WPSA added BIR to its 2007-2008 schedule, which includes Canterbury Park, Duluth and five other venues. |
