June 26, 2007 - There's no better way to kick off the Fourth of July week than by attending the PleasureLand RV Center Show & Go at Brainerd International Raceway Friday through Sunday.

The 21st annual Show & Go features exciting drag racing, a classic car show, live music, fireworks and a full schedule of activities for fans of all ages.

On the quarter-mile track, more than 400 drag racers will compete in a number of classes, including the ultra quick King Street, Real Street, Pro Outlaw and Outlaw classes. These are cars that will cover the quarter mile in 6 or 7 seconds. In all, there will be 80 different classes that racers will compete in. New this year on the drag strip will be an exhibition of some nostalgic dragsters. A number of 1970s-era dragsters and funny cars will entertain the crowd with several runs down the track.

Off the track, stunning show cars will be buffed up for the classic car show, where they'll be judged in one of 28 classes. Fans will be encouraged to vote for their favorite as well; the car receiving the most popular votes will receive the People's Choice Award.

But the Show & Go isn't just for racing fans and those who appreciate beautiful cars, there's plenty to do for the rest of the family as well: a spectacular fireworks display Saturday night, trolley rides, games for kids such as a coin hunt, and live music at the BIR Bandshell.

"It really doesn't matter how old you are or how much you like racing, we can entertain you for the weekend," BIR Vice President of Operations Scott Quick said. "We have 500 acres of camping for those who want to join us for the weekend, and we have 164 beautiful RV sites for those who like to camp in style. Any way you slice it, BIR is the place to be this weekend."
