2010 All Bike Drags - Rules & Classes

Brainerd International Raceway is an NHRA sanctioned drag strip and we
follow the NHRA rulebook for minimum safety requirements.

General Rules:

All vehicless must pass an NHRA tech inspection to compete.
All riders who run quicker than 9.99 will be required to have the proper license in their possession.

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING
All riders are required to wear a full face helmet certified Snell 2000 or newer.
Full leather suit or leather jacket, leather boots/shoes above the ankle, and leather gloves that extend past your wrist are
mandatory on ALL motorcycles/sleds. Gloves must be Kevlar-lined or equipped with slide buttons.
No material other than leather may be used for the jacket or pants.
Any rider who attains speeds in excess of 120 mph will require full leathers or leather pants that zip to the jacket at the waist.

PRESSURIZED BOTTLES
Any pressurized container must be stamped with DOT-1800 pound rating and be securely mounted. Swing arm may be pressurized,
maximum pressure 150psi. Gauge must be installed to monitor pressure.

IGNITION SHUTOFF
Motorcycles/sleds must be equipped with a positive ignition cutoff switch attached to the rider with a lanyard. Switch must be on low-voltage side
of the ignition circuit. Many stock machines are equipped with a handlebar-mounted thumb switch that can have a lanyard easily attached for the above purpose.

GROUND CLEARANCE
Minimum 2 inches.(Motorcycles)


CHAIN AND/OR BELT GUARDS
Mandatory. Must have front and rear chain guards to cover the width and at least the top run to the centerline of the sprocket of any chains or belts.
The clutch assembly must have at least half of the side surface covered.

 

SLEDS:
Must have ski wheels with an attached loop.
Must have an asphalt track.
Must have snow flap with retainer.


DIAL-INS
All dial-ins must be legibly displayed on the LEFT side of each machine. It is the participants responsibility to verify that their correct dial-in shows on the score board.  If you stage on the wrong dial-in, you accept it, no questions or re-runs. Anyone caught changing their dial-in after the yellow line (painted on the track in staging) will be disqualified.

 

Classes and Class Rules:

 

Pro Index Classes ($50.00 entry)

7.50 Index Class - Pro
8.50 Index Class - Pro
9.50 Index Class - Pro
10.50 Index Class - Pro
Heads-up on a .4 Pro Tree w/autostart
Qualified by reaction time on a Pro Ladder

This is a run what you brung class, whatever it takes to run the number.

 

Street Index Classes ($50.00 entry)


7.50 Index Class - Street
8.50 Index Class - Street
9.50 Index Class - Street
10.50 Index Class - Street
Heads-up on a .4 Pro Tree w/autostart
Qualified by reaction time on a Pro Ladder

In addition to the general rules, Street Index Class Motorcycle must meet the following class criteria:
Street legal DOT Tires front & rear.
No wheelie bars.
70" maximum wheel base.
Must be self starting (kickstart allowed, push start prohibited).
Must have working headlight/tail light.
No slider clutches, hand clutch only.
Must have working suspension, no solid forks or struts (front end limiting straps permitted).
No 2-steps, electronics or air throttle stops.

E.T. (Dial-In) Classes ($50.00 entry)

Street Bike - .500 full tree

In addition to the general rules, Motorcycle must meet the following class criteria:
Street Legal DOT tires front & rear only - NO SLICKS.
No wheelie bars.
70" Maximum Wheel Base.
NO sliders or air clutches, no button launching devices - must have clutch lever.
Must have working headlight/tail lights.
Must be self starting (kickstart allowed, push start prohibited).
Must have working suspension, no solid forks or struts (front end limiting straps permitted).
Electric/auto shifters and Air shifters permitted.

 

 

Pro Bike/Sled - No Box - .500 full tree

In addition to the general rules, Motorcycle must meet the following class criteria:
Any electronic device which can by any means delay the release of the two step electronically is illegal.
Any throttle stop or down track ignition interrupt control devices which have either electronic keypads or adjustable thumb wheels are prohibited.
Dyna shift counters are legal.
*Bikes running both the Box and No-Box classes must physically remove the box completely from the bike to run the No-Box class.

 

Pro Bike/Sled - With Box - .500 full tree & Crosstalk


In addition to the general rules, Motorcycle must meet the following class criteria:
Any electronic device which can by any means delay the release of the two step electronically is illegal.
Any throttle stop or down track ignition interrupt control devices which have either electronic keypads or adjustable thumb wheels are prohibited.
Dyna shift counters are legal.

Trophy Class ($20.00 entry)

 

Street Bike Trophy - .500 full tree

In addition to the general rules, Motorcycle must meet the following class criteria:
Street Legal DOT tires front & rear only - NO SLICKS.
No wheelie bars.
68" Maximum Wheel Base.
NO sliders or air clutches, no button launching devices - must have clutch lever.
Must have working headlight/tail lights.
Must be self starting (kickstart allowed, push start prohibited).
Must have working suspension, no solid forks or struts.
Electric/auto shifters and Air shifters prohibited.

 

Pro Bike Trophy - .500 full tree

In addition to the general rules, Motorcycle must meet the following class criteria:
Any slick or DOT tire.
Wheelie bars OK.
Sliders and Air Clutches OK.
Electric/auto shifters and Air shifters OK.
Any power adder ok.
