BIR to sell off-sale alcohol during NHRA Nationals

(Aug. 9, 2010) - Race fans can buy beer and alcohol this year during the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals without having to leave BIR! The track now has a license to sell off-sale alcohol and will have a variety of beer and alcohol available for sale all week. 

An assortment of Budweiser products will be available, including Budweiser, Bud Light, Michelob Golden Light and Busch Light. The variety of liquor includes your favorite brands, such as Bacardi, Captain Morgan, Jim Beam, Windsor, Jagermeister, Jose Cuervo, Tanqueray and many others. Ice is also available.

To purchase beer or liquor, fans need to order it by phone by calling one of the following numbers: 218-232-1971 or 218-232-0698. Your order will be delivered to the old Mom & Pop's food stand next to the new bridge and bandshell in the campground. You can pay cash when you pick up your order or use a credit card over the phone when you place your order. Fans can buy beer and alcohol from The Wheelie Bar & Grill through Wednesday. But starting Thursday, only phone orders will be taken. 

BIR decided to sell off-sale alcohol because of the safety concerns associated with fans leaving the track to buy alcohol. Even though there are liquor stores close to BIR's entrance, the added traffic created by fans leaving BIR and returning created safety issues.
