This Wednesday! Fan Fest at Westgate Mall in Brainerd

(Aug. 9, 2010) - Drag racing fans are invited to the Westgate Mall in Brainerd for the annual NHRA Nationals Fan Fest that's scheduled for 4-7 p.m. today. Westgate Mall is located on Washington Street (Hwy 210) just east of Hwy 371.

The event will feature 30 dragsters, cars and bikes - including Terry McMillen's Top Fuel Dragster - that will be on display inside the mall and in the parking lot facing Washington Street. Fans can get autographs from the drivers and can get an up-close-and-personal look at these amazing machines. 

Fans can also sign up to win some great prizes, including tickets to the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals, which starts this Thursday and runs through Sunday, as well as tickets to the Trans-Am Series and Muscle Car Shootout Labor Day weekend, and other great racing prizes like hats and T-shirts. 

At 7 p.m., the teams will load up their cars and will receive a police escort up Hwy 371 to BIR.

Tony Pedregon at Charter, Zorbaz Thursday
Race fans have two chances to meet Top Fuel Funny Car driver Tony Pedregon Thursday. From 1-2:30 p.m., he will be at the Charter Communications office at 8330 Highland Scenic Drive in Baxter. From 5-6 p.m., Tony will be at Zorbaz on Gull. Tony, who won the Top Fuel Funny Car class last year at BIR, will also have his new Charter-sponsored Top Fuel Funny Car on display for fans at both locations. At Zorbaz, his car will be there from 4-7 p.m. KLIZ, the Power Loon, will be at the Charter location doing a radio remote as well. 

John Force, Robert Hight at Mills Ford
Top Fuel Funny Car legend John Force and his Funny Car teammate Robert Hight will be at Mills Ford in Baxter from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm Friday to sign autographs and meet the fans. Mill Ford is on Hwy 371 just north of the Hwy 210 intersection.
