Brainerd International Raceway is 40 years old and we want to celebrate with you! Join us Sept. 12-14 for exciting road racing and drag racing, and a chance for you to test our brand new 2.5-mile, 13-turn competition road course that’s expected to be one of the most challenging in the country. We’ll be saluting our colorful 40-year history as a world-class racetrack while looking ahead to the future with the many opportunities in store for our new track configuration.

In addition to road racing, drag racing and spectator touring, the weekend will also include a chance to meet three-time Indy 500 winner Bobby Unser and legendary TV announcer Chris Economaki, both of whom will be on-track Saturday and will be keynote speakers that night during BIR’s Honors Banquet, which is open to the public and will be followed by dancing to The Johnny Holm Band at the BIR Bandshell.
Throughout the weekend, on-track events include:
• Road racing by Vintage Car Club, Sports Car Club of America and other car clubs
• Motorcycle club racing
• Nostalgic and Outlaw drag racing exhibitions
• BIR Performance Driving School lapping (experience or license required)
• Competition go-kart lapping (experience or license required)
• Low-speed touring (open to spectators – drive your vehicle behind a pace car)
Off-track events include:
• Performance vehicle shop displays
• Vehicle manufacturer displays
• Professional-level bench racing
• Honors Banquet Saturday night, featuring Bobby Unser & Chris Economaki
• Live music by The Johnny Holm Band starting at 8 p.m. Saturday
• Fireworks display at 10 p.m. Saturday
• Pig roast at 6 p.m. Friday
The track is also open to anyone who wants to drive their vehicle around the course. All you need is a street-legal vehicle; cost is $10 per day. Speeds will be limited to 50 mph, unless you have high-speed lapping experience or a valid competition license. Be the first to tour, lap or race on this new course.
